Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO) and Saksi Malaysia recently hosted their first ever art exhibition and fundraiser, Strokes of Resilience: Empowerment through Art, held in conjunction with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (25th November) and the UN’s 16 Days against Gender-Based violence.
Survivors who come to WAO are first assisted by our services team who are often the first to provide crucial support, while also helping countless survivors rebuild their lives with tailored guidance.
Through the exhibition and fundraiser, we not only aimed to raise awareness on support structures and systems necessary for survivors of violence in Malaysia, but to also raise funds to help maintain and further develop WAO’s Services team.
All proceeds will be split between the participating artists as well as WAO’s Services Team
